For over 800 years the castle and mansion house of Dromana has been the seat of one of the principle families of the south of Ireland, the FitzGeralds, Lord of the Decies, later Villiers-Stuart.

Dromana House is one of Ireland’s ancient hidden wonders containing remnants of every age of building in Ireland from the 13th century to modern times.

Dromana’s East Wing is steeped in old world charm with modern day facilities. The four double/twin bedrooms all have spectacular views of the river below where the wildlife go about their daily routines.

The guide for this stimulating, historical and informative tour is a member of the family who live in Dromana House. The duration of the tour is approximately one hour and carries you through 800 years (26 generations).

Visit Dromana Gardens

The garden and woodland extend over 30 acres including walks, many of which are looped. Dromana is a haven for natural regeneration which can be observed by the casual visitor.
